part 2 on the secret place of prayer

Out of the secret place of prayer shall break forth new things.  God will use this place to share HIs intimacy with you and speak His words to you.  Dale Fife writes two excellent books, The Hidden Kingdom and the Secret Place.  In the book he shares his struggles before he spends the time with God in the secret place of His dwelling. 
     My mind was filled with worldy ideas and burdens.  I have been brainwashed by the media, the world, and desentized by prolonged exposture to the entertainment industry.  I really was an adulteress to God, a friend of the world.  I am distracted by many things.  I saw how desperately I needed this Hidden Kingdom that was within me that I had been neglecting every day.
     Paul says in Galatians 6:14 “But may it never be that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through which the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.  Which means that the world is a dead thing to me and I am a dead man to the world.  Because of the cross, my interest in all the attractive things of the world was killed years ago.  I died to the world and no longer have to look to it to get my needs met or find my idenity in it.  I was crucified toward the world, I am separated from it, I no longer depend on looking to it for my source, recognition, or my idenity.  I have died with Christ to the elementary principles of the world.  Since I have died with Christ and He set me free from following the world’s ideas on how to be saved.  Oh yes the world does have a salvation plan.  By doing good works and obeying various rules, like don’t eat, don’t do this don’t do that, try harder, Do not handle, do not taste and do not touch,  all these things that are self made religions, self abasement, and severe treatment of the body but are of no value against fleshly indulgence.  Colossians 2:21-23.
     So Deuteronomy 26: 8,9, “The Lord brought us out of Dgypt with a mighty hand and an outstreched arm and He will bring you to this place, a land flowing with milk and honey.  So God got you saved and He will bring you into the secret place.  He will bring you in with His Holy Word.
      The word of God now becomes my way into the secret place and they keep me there.  It is not what I tell Him that counts because it is really all about Him and what He wants to tell me.  We are listening Ecclesiastes 5:1,2, “Guard your steps as you go to the house of God, and draw near to listen rather than to offer the sacrifice of fools. for they do not know they are doing evil.  Do not be hasty in word or impulsive in thought to bring up a matter in the presence of God.  For God is in heaven and you are on the earth: therefore let your words be few.
      The words that I speak cause me to center or focus on God and that brings me into His presence.  As each word is now introduced it will draw me deeper into his presence.  So as we think or quietly say the word we wait on God for a short time intravel and then the next phrase is spoken and it takes us deeper into the well of His presence.  So we start on the following words.  !.  I will abide in your presence O Lord..2.  Draw me near O Lord that we can run together.  3.  Send out thy LIght and thy Truth and let them lead me.  4.  I wait patiently for the Lord and He will hear me.  5.  I will return to Him and He will return to me.  ^6.  I will seek Him as gold and silver and He will let me find Him.  7.I will dwell in the presence fo the Most High God.  8.  I will fix my eyes on Jesus who is the author and finisher of my faith.  I will wait silently for the Lord. 9.  I will draw near to listen and not speak.  10.  I will sit alone and be silent before God. 
      Now these phrases are just the beginning to lead you into the deeper places of His presence.  Take the list of 10 things and read part 1 and part 2 on entering the secret place.  Let the lord lead you into the deeper waters.  You can add some other phrases like, soaking in His presence, relaxing in Him, Beholding the beauty of the Lord, Practicing His presence, Pouring out your heart to Him like water or telling Him how you feel,(which is called the law of first intimacy),  Drink deeply of Him,  Eat of His flesh and Drink of the True Drink,  Take HIm in, Invite Him into your mind and thoughts and emotions.  Each phrase will deepen you into His presence.

Secret Place Prayer

     Matt:6:6  But you, when you pray ,”go into your inner room or your secret place and when you have shut the door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in the Secret Place will repay you.
     Some of the other translations put a little different slant on the prayer, whenever you, follower of mine prays, go into a room by yourself or enter into thy secret chamber and then fasten the door shut and pray to your heavenly Father who is there in the secret place and He will render payment for waiting in His Presence.
     So entering into the Secret Place is using these scriptures which are the word of God to draw you into his presence.  Is 26:20 says “Come, my people, enter into your rooms, and close your doors behind you, and hide for a little while until indignation runs its course.
      So God is calling us to Come into his presence and shut out all distractions of the mind and focus on Him and wait for HIm in our inner chambers which is where the Kingdom of God is.  Jesus says that the Kingdom is within you if you are a Christian.
     Ps: 51:6 says “Behold, Thou dost desire truth in the innermost being or in my inward parts, and in the hidden part Thou wilt make me know wisdom.  So our prayer is inward, quiet, listening, and waiting on God so that I can be filled in my inward parts and recieve instruction from God.
     Ps 139:15  “My frame was not hidden from thee when I was made in secret and skillfully wrought in the depths of the earth.  This is where secret prayer is going, back to the place you were formed in utter seclusion and put together in secrecy.
     Ps 91:1,2  He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Most High, I will say to my Lord,”My refuge and My fortress.  He will cover you with His pinions and under His wings you may seek refuge.  Some of the other translations says “He who lives in the secret shelter of the Most High lodges in the shadow of the Almighty and remains stable and fixed there, and says you are my sheltering haven, you are my shelter from the storms of the day, you are my hiding place and He keeps you safe from wasting disease, destructive pestitlance, the hunters trap.  He will safeguard you with His strength and you will find shelter within His protecting power, He will encompass you with His armour and you will not be afraid.
     Ps 57:1 says”Be gracious to me O God be gracious to me for my soul takes refuge in thee, and in the shadow of thy wings I take refuge, until destruction passes by.  Some of the other thoughts that takes me further into His Presence go like this.  1.  I will abide in thee o Lord 2. I will rest in your Presence O God.  I will stay and remain in my secret place. 3.  I will dwell in the safety of your everlasting arms.  4.  I will hide in your Presence from all the noise of the world.  5.  I will wait diligently for you only.
     Ps 31:20  Thou dost hide them in the secret place of thy presence from the conspiracies of man, Thou dos keep them secretly in a shelter from the strife of tongues.
       The second part of Secret Place praying is waiting on God.  Ps 62:5 says “My soul, wait in silence for God only, For my hope is from Him.  He only is my rock and salvation, My stronghold, I shall not be shaken.  On God my salvation and my glory rest, the rock of my strength, my refuge is in God.  Trust in Him at all times O people, Pour out your heart before Him.  God is a refuge for us.  Some of the other translations say ” I commit myself silently to God and leave all my cares quietly to God, my hope and expectations are from Him only, no one else can help, not people, not friends, God only.  Always rely on him, pour out your prayers to Him, another says pout out your heart and tell Him who you feel.  This is really the law of first intimacy is telling God how you feel. 
     The next part of secret prayer is entering into the intimacy with God.  You were created for the purpose that they should seek God, if perhaps they might grope for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.  Acts 17:27.  Song of Solomon says in the first chapter and the fourth verse, “Draw me near that we can run together for the King has brought me into His chambers.  Some of the other translations add to this but it is us asking the Almighty to Draw us near, not us, but the power of the Holy Spirit to take us to Him.  Draw me and let us become one, Draw me into the secret chambers of your presence, Take me along with you so the we may praise your love more than wine.  We will find thy love more fragrant than wine.
